October 10th -IEP Meetings: Secrets to Success

Practical information about how to succeed in getting what you want at IEP meetings. Ideas on how to prepare before the meeting, helpful hints to use while in the IEP meeting and what you need to do after the meeting. This training will also include how to understand and use your child’s evaluation information provided by the district or an independent evaluator.

November 14th-Writing Effective IEPs

Understanding the basic parts of an IEP and what needs to be in each section. Learning to take your dreams and desires for your child and put them into goals for the school to work on. Learning to write goals that are measurable. Practical tips on how to follow up to make sure you child is making the progress you would like to see.

December 12th-IEP Meetings Without Tears

Strategies to use in IEP meeting to keep your cool and get what you want on the IEP. Ideas on how to separate facts from emotion, how to find allies on the team, how to get around obstructing people, understanding how to use “what’s in it for the school district” to get what you want.

• Pre registration is recommended as seating is limited.
• Cost: $70 per session or $150 for all three sessions
